BEEC was established in 1983 as a leading Examinations Council to conduct highly rated professional examinations in the specialized areas of management and business. The BEEC’s objective is to promote and develop for public benefit the science of good management practice. This objective is achieved by encouraging students and those in managerial positions to advance their career through BEEC examinations.

BEEC helps its students to keep abreast with current and future business and managerial trends and practice.

BEEC examinations are generally of international standards and by virtue of its professional excellence; dynamism, and integrity, BEEC qualifications have since been universally recognized. BEEC was for many years a member of the British based Council for education in the Commonwealth.

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

BEEC examinations offer the following options: Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Business Management, Administrative Management, Accountancy and Personnel Management. It is not possible for a candidate to pursue two courses simultaneously. The details of each discipline are spelt out in the students’ handbook entitled “Regulation and Syllabus”.

 

EXAMINATION STRUCTURE

BEEC examinations are conducted in three stages, namely:

  1. FOUNDATION STAGE

    BEEC foundation stage qualification is equivalent to British Business Examinations Council (BEC) or ScotBEC National Award. This stage consists of (6) five examinations subjects which can be taken in a sitting.

  2. PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE STAGE

    This stage is open to candidates who have completed the Foundation stage or holders of OND, or BEC or ScotBEC national award in business studies or recognized equivalent qualifications. This stage consists of eight (10) examination papers and is made up of two parts of 1 & 2. The professional certificate stage is equivalent to BEC or ScotBEC higher award, HNC HND.

  3. DIPLOM A STAGE

    This is the final stage of BEEC examinations. It consists of four (5) examination papers which include case study. To register for the Diploma examinations, an applicant must have completed professional certificate examinations or granted full exemption. BEEC diploma is of a Post HND standard or post graduate qualification.

 

EXAMINATIONS PERIOD

BEEC examinations are held in July and December each year in all the approved centres world-wide. Registration for the July examination closes on May 30, while December examination closes on October 30. All candidates must first register as students of the council before applying for the examinations.

 

EXAMINATION CENTERS

Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Jos, Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Uyo, Bayelsa.

 

TUITION

BEEC provides tuition on weekend basis. A list of approved tutorial centres can be supplied to every student on request. You can as well study privately for the examination. Candidates are advised to read extensively for the examination and should have a good command of English Language.

MEMBERSHIP OF PROFESSIONAL BODIES

The Diploma qualifications awarded by BEEC to students are generally recognizedby most professional bodies working in allied fields for exemptions. Associate memberships are also granted by NIPR, APCON, NIM to holders of BEEC qualifications.

 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of BEEC are managers in commerce, industry and public service.

 

EXAMINATION ENTRIES

Candidates are required to forward entries well in advance, to avoid late entry charges. Full details including timetable and examination docket, are dispatched automatically to all the students who have registered for the examination.

 

STUDENT REGISTRATION

BEEC expects those who present themselves for examination to have a reasonable standard of education, particularly in Business Studies, an adequate command of English Language and sufficient proficiency to deal effectively with the accounting, statistical and economic factors implicit in the examinations. Council is prepared to consider applications for registration as students from those who hold a recognized degree or HND or can provide evidence of success in examinations undertaken in the field of business studies or hold a minimum of five (5) GCE/SSCE credit passes including English Language and Mathematics plus relevant work experience or hold five GCE/SSCE credit passes of which two must be at Advanced level, are matured and can provide evidence of completing a formal education.
